This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way Farm. All opinions are 100% mine.
When Ramblers Way contacted me asking if I’d like to review one of their wool garments, my first thought? Um, guys…could we maybe schedule a wool review for…I don’t know, February? But as it turns out, Ramblers Way products, which use superfine Rambouillet wool, are nothing at all like what I expected: they’re thin, non-itchy, hold up just about forever, and can be worn all year round, since they’re warming in the winter and cooling in the summer. They’re wool, yes…but the company has completely re-imagined the fabric.
I have a bit of a thing for henleys – I think they’re very classic and extremely sexy – and this one is pretty much unbeatable. Why, you ask? Two reasons: 1) Ramblers Way garments are pre-shrunk, so they’re completely machine-washable (!) and 2) they’re treated with a special, all-natural enzyme that repels odors, so they can go days without being washed, making them ideal for travel. Wear them hiking one day and fishing the next, and minimize the risk that your significant other will run screaming into the woods when you try to plant one on her. And come winter you can wear them under anything from a suit to a fleece: they won’t chafe the skin and won’t bunch up, and their weight makes them absolutely perfect for layering.
The company is also completely eco-friendly and deserving of our support:
it’s a family-run farm based in Kennebunk, Maine, and is totally sustainable, organic, and humane. In fact, they actually exceed the industry standard for humane treatment of their ewes (“Mama” and one of her babies – eee! – are pictured above). You can read more about the family and the farm HERE – they’re a wonderful, hardworking group of people who genuinely love what they do and have strongly-held beliefs about community and ecological responsibility.
