Jordan In The House: Bed and Breakfast

I haven’t been able to make it all the way up to Maine this summer (at least not so far)…so I headed somewhere a little closer to home in search of inspiration of the cozy and romantic sort. (It’s the Warwickshire B&B in Warwick, NY, and it is the cutest place ever for a romantic weekend getaway.)

Cute video, Jordan! We also love staying at B&B’s (we love the Fife and Drum in Williamsburg, VA :) but, when we can’t be in a B&B, I too “infuse” my house with “Romantic-ness.” I like to have a lot of comfy, patterned pillows on my couches, toss throw blankets everywhere, and use soft, vintage-y, subtle colors. I also love having secret places to sit and read a book in my house–whether it is an extra little bench, or a stool, or a comfy throw pillow on the floor.

Also, I love breakfasts at B&Bs. We stayed at one in the Hamptons, and I snuck into the house’s kitchen to see it–gorgeous!! I love how B&Bs always have extra snacks around!

im going to have to start adding marshmallow fluff to french toast now! the most interesting b&b ive been to was an organic farm slash b&b in flemington nj.  uh, one caveat was that the resident rooster kept trying to ‘challenge’ my dog.  the owner/innkeeper then suggested we cook said rooster for dinner.  (i passed).

we like to keep our house comfy by having tons of blankets in every room, and a library filled with comic books, books, board games, and lego sets.  and i make everyone take their shoes off by the front door (i like to say that it’s an ‘asian household’ thing but really, i’m just kinda ocd) so i like to hoard fluffy slippers whenever they go on sale for guests.
