Question Of The Day

Why in the world would anyone serve potatoes and peas separately when they’re just so delicious all smushed together?

I don’t know, either.

(Up there is last night’s Snowed-In Dinner. Click here for Stovetop Steak, and here for some info on navigating the meat section of the supermarket.)

P.S. Speaking of steak, last night I went to Les Halles with Jenn of Project Jenny (if you don’t read her site, you should; she’s wonderful). I absolutely love the relaxed, cozy atmosphere at Les Halles, and have been known to park myself there with a martini and an enormous book. I know that the place doesn’t get the raves it used to, but I still think it’s a great spot for a (relatively) affordable steak frites with some seriously awesome frites.

I’m a huge fan of Les Halles! I used to go to the one in the Financial District after work rather frequently. For the price, it can’t be beat IMHO.

agreed! and i think anthony bourdain himself says that they have the best fries around. i mean, he’s biased, but still :)

LOVE Les Halles. I used to live right around the block from there and went all the time. The confit de canard and truffled potatoes/frisee salad becomes an addiction…

Oh and the last time I was there, so was Anthony B himself! Swoon.
