Totally Surprised Kendrick

This anniversary I made Kendrick promise, swear, cross heart etc. that we wouldn’t exchange gifts or do anything fancy. I did this because I wanted to blow his mind by getting him something that he’s wanted – needed, actually – for a long time now, and I didn’t want it to be about quid pro quo…I wanted it to be about him, because god knows, it’s a Jordan kind of world around these parts a lot of the time, and he deserves something special.

Update: No actual gift reveal in this video – you didn’t miss anything! The point wasn’t what I got him – it was how happy he was :)

    Perhaps it was an awesome sex toy that Jordan doesn't want to share with the masses. Or something else totally intimate/personal. Whatever it was, the reaction was priceless, Jordan. Good job!

    Jordan, help me out here: isn’t part of the pat of not getting each other something mutual respect? I mean, I know you say it was about him to do that but I actually saw it the other way around. Letting someone get you a gift when you are about to get them one is to put the other person on equal ground. It’s showign mutual respect. I speak from experience- a friend did this to me and I actually found her behavior a bit selfish. She had a sort of upper hand there. I did get somethign I “wanted” but the gesture is the point of gifts not the thing. Your rationale actually made me rather uncomfortable. I also don’t understand you reasoning about not revealing the gift. Just don’t post about it all then. This post I found a bit unsettling. Also, the “Rehab” song? Was that linked to gift somehow? I don’t understand.

    Wait, you're writing to my wife to tell her you disapprove of the way she gave me a gift? Leave that to me, please.

    The song conspiracy theory, however, is pretty funny. Next time we're going to dance to Hit Me Baby (One More Time) to see if anyone guesses it's a reference to domestic violence.

    So please don't spoil it. She just did a really thoughtful and lovely thing that meant a lot to me, and wanted to share how happy it made me with everyone.

    aww! i think the best gifts are those that demonstrate respect for the recipient's dreams…gifts that show that you support what's most important to them, regardless of whether or not you can personally relate.
