Extra Eye Makeup And Simple Solutions

Have you noticed that I like eye makeup just a little?

It’s been a lifelong romance. In high school, I was into drawing on big kohl curlicues at the outer corners and then patting on as much glitter as I could get to stick (it was a statement; what can I say?).

In college, I remember my boyfriend begging me to stop with the whole rimming-the-lower-lid thing, mostly because it grossed him out to watch the application process (it is a little gross, if you’re skittish about things like eyeballs).

Anyway, I’ve lightened up a bit over the years – I’ve discovered that skipping the lower liner is a generally better look for me – but I am still wedded to my liquid liner and mascara. I’ll sometimes forego the shadow, and often (usually) forget about things like filling in my brows…but liner?

Liner, I do not forget.

And during Fashion Week – because hey, I don’t get out of the woods all that often these days, so I have to take every opportunity I get to do it up – I went big, and even switched up my regular brown-and-black look with some serious color (that’s NARS Outremer applied with a wet brush and accented with a thin swipe of that glitter eyeliner I raved about last week).

But major eye makeup presents a small problem, which is that when you get home from a long day in the city, chances are you’re tired and miserable and don’t really want to spend ten minutes scrubbing at your sleepy eyes.

Which is why I’m so into Simple Skincare’s Eye Make-Up Remover so much (seriously, I have four bottles stockpiled in my closet right this very minute, just because running out is not an option). Simple Skincare beauty products are, as you might imagine, simple from top to bottom (made specifically for sensitive skin, they contain no dyes, fragrances, or any other potential irritants)… so how is it that the eye makeup remover takes off every last speck in literally seconds with no pulling, tugging, or burning?

Don’t know.

Don’t care.

All I know is that my stockpile is staying put.
