You Know, I Was Always Pretty Good At Multitasking…

…but these days, I’m great. The term “whirling dervish” comes to mind. One thing that every single friend who’s come to visit has commented on is the fact that I am no longer capable of sitting still, even for a minute – I’m constantly running from room to room picking things up, putting things down, straightening, adjusting, fixing, feeding, pouring, stirring, turning off, turning on…

It’s kind of exhausting.

It makes me do things like accidentally start bouncing a bag of dog food on my hip while waiting on line at the grocery store (this happened).

But it’s also the only way to get everything done.

In the fifteen minutes that the baby has been napping, so far I have:

- Made (and then immediately abandoned) coffee

- Made (and then immediately abandoned) cereal

- Applied a face mask

- Put oil in my hair

- Made a grocery list

- Made the bed

- Given a cursory pat to the dogs (poor things; I swear, babies, it’ll get better once I adjust to our new circumstances a bit more)

- Straightened up the nursery

- Put away the laundry

- Taken a photo of how cute the baby looks while sleeping

- Carried the ten thousand water glasses scattered all over our apartment into the kitchen (Kendrick and I both shed glasses wherever we go)

- Stared at the bottle of wine on the counter

- Realized that it’s 11 in the morning

- Picked up coffee instead

- Plugged in the tree

- Unpacked a box of presents from my in-laws

- Deleted 200 emails notifying me that something called “Facebook of Sex” has posted trackbacks to my website

- Taken the requisite me-in-a-blue-face-mask PhotoBooth photo

In fifteen minutes.

And where, may I ask, is my reward?

…Asleep in the bouncy seat, of course.

My god, he’s cute.

OMG. I thought I was crazy. I can’t EVER sit still now that the baby is here. It doesn’t slow down as they get older. If I wasn’t amazed at my ability to multi-task, I might drive myself crazy.

What is your face make of choice? I have similarly fair skin and actually just started using the bargain priced Queen Helene green mask and am blown away by the results.  But I love trying a variety.

Yep- that sounds about right!  Now, to make husbands that productive in 15 minutes would be genius!

That’s a totally reasonable price for something so moisture enhancing.  I’ll give it ago.  Queen Helene is great for drawing stuff out but the clay is very drying and regular moisturizer doesn’t always cut it.
