Sex In A Pan

When I was in Canada over Canadian Thanksgiving, my cousin Tina gave me the recipe for something she called “Sex In A Pan.” It involves chocolate chips, pudding, whipped cream…and not a second spent at the stove. Obviously, it went straight to the top of my must-make list.

I decided to make it in a graham cracker pie crust rather than a pan, but when I tried to cut out a slice…well, it fell apart. As you can see. Which is why, as I said, this dish should really be eaten straight from the pan (or pie dish) while sitting in bed watching horror movies.

What you need:

1 tub Cool Whip

1/2 package (about 4 oz) cream cheese

3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

1 graham cracker pie crust (or you can use graham crackers and make this in a casserole dish)

Pistachio pudding (I just used instant)

Milk (for pudding)

Chocolate chips (or nuts, or both)

What you do:

1. Beat together cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, and 1/2 the tub of Cool Whip until smooth.

2. Meanwhile, prepare the pudding, using 3/4 of the milk that the package instructs you to use.

3. Pour the cream cheese mixture into the pie shell, then top with pudding. Finish by spreading over the rest of the Cool Whip, and sprinkling on some chocolate chips or nuts, or by drizzling with a little melted chocolate.

Fancier/prettier alternative:

Arrange the dish as trifles, layering graham crackers, cream cheese mixture, pudding, and whipped cream in small clear glasses and topping with a little crushed pistachio or gold edible glitter.

P.S. This dish is very similar to my 100%-Not-From-Scratch Chocolate-Banana Cream Pie and 100%-Not-From-Scratch Lemon Meringue Pie In A Glass – two more super-simple must-makes.
