National Business Women’s Week / Tory Burch Foundation

Did you know that just twenty years ago, it was legal for banks to require women to have a male co-sign before offering a business loan? Amazing, I know…but that’s why it’s so important that we work together to support female-owned businesses.

Today marks the start of National Business Women’s Week (October 18-22), and in celebration Tory Burch has launched a special, limited-edition collection (including pop-art kerchiefs, leather wrap bracelets, and tote bags) to benefit the Tory Burch Foundation, which was established in 2009 to assist with the economic empowerment of women through mentoring and microfinance (helping low-income American women who do not typically have access to traditional financial services). The line ranges in price from $16.99 for the Foundation CD to $195 for the (gorgeous) silk scarf, and can be found both in Tory Burch boutiques and online.

And…I have in my possession a Tory Burch Foundation CD, and I would like to give it to one of you! It features artists like Devendra Banhart, The Smiths, The Neville Brothers, and my buddy Matt White, and it’s great. So: Tweet me if you’d like to win it (@ramshackleglam), and I’ll DM the winner at the end of the day!

On a personal note, I’d just like to say that I know how many of you who read here are entrepreneurial, self-motivated, talented women, and you inspire me every day. So thank you.
