When I got engaged, I was still living in LA and “working” (a loose term) as an actress, and when I told my acting coach that I was getting married, he said this: “If you ever listen to anything I say, listen to me now: do NOT have a big wedding. Take ten friends, fly to the Caribbean, and spend a week living it up.” Of course I didn’t listen to him: I wanted the dress, the flowers, the semi-extensive guest list, the blah blah blah…and of course, I kinda wish I had taken his advice. Don’t get me wrong – I loved our wedding, and thought it was absolutely perfect – but even though we cut costs by doing everything that we could ourselves, Kendrick and I were still paying it off over a year later.
I interviewed the Wedding Manager at Barcelo, and she told me that wedding parties that stay a total of 30 nights (which can be divided between guests, as in 10 rooms x 3 nights each = 30 nights) get a FREE WEDDING. I totally don’t believe her, but if this is true…wow. Just wow.
Maybe it’s vow renewal time?
