I’m breaking out.
I hate breaking out. Because on a day-to-day basis this 2-Minute New Mama Makeup routine is pretty much all I can muster, and breakouts mean…well, more.
Anyway, I’m going to blame the breakouts on ebbing pregnancy hormones mostly because a) last time they showed up was when the hormones first came out to say hi, so it makes sense that my skin would throw a party when they leave, too, and b) I refuse to believe that my 30-year-old self would be breaking out just ’cause. Either way, they must be gotten rid of.
This stuff* is helping so much. I’m wary of acne treatments because my major skin issue is dryness (oof, the dryness)…but so far, so good. One thin coat of the La Roche-Posay salicylic acid acne treatment over the problem spots (not every night, just when needed), and in the morning, the state of my skin is worlds better.
More personal care products I’m into at the moment:
1. Borghese Acqua Ristorativo Eye Treatment*: Shea butter, jojoba oil, and avocado = texture that’s thick enough to feel like it’s really doing something, but not so thick that it feels heavy and gloppy.
2. Dove Antiperspirant & Deodorant Invisible Solid, Original Scent: When it comes to antiperspirant, I don’t need to smell like a tropical waterfall sprinkled with pomegranate and glitter; I need to stay lovely and fresh and not have little white lines all over my go-to black t-shirts. Done.
3. Nature’s Gate Glow Lotion in Light*: After seeing these photos, I realized that I am so pale at the moment that I’m practically fluorescent. This stuff builds a natural, subtle glow over time, and is helping to turn down the volume on my Casper The Ghost-ness quite nicely (see these photos for evidence).
4. Mustela Bebe 2-in-1 Hair & Body Wash: I just ran out of this, and am in the process of ordering more this very second, because it smells so good that it takes what’s already the best part of my day (bathtime; so much fun) and makes it even better.
