Overall, I’m really happy with how our house is coming together, style-wise. There’s still lots of work to be done, of course, but let’s get real: anyplace that has leopard rugs on the floor and gold antlers on the wall is a place where I am happy.
But still, there’s something to be said for creating a spot or two that’s more about peace than playfulness.
Presenting: the room that has finally, for the first time in years (I mean that; my insomnia has been a problem since something like 2006) allowed me to sleep through the night.
More shots after the jump!
The wallpaper was put up by the previous owners, and there wasn’t a question in my mind that I’d be keeping it.
I figured that the wallpaper was statement enough for a small room, so to keep things feeling calm I went for all-white linens, a seaglass lamp from HomeGoods (click here for more bedside table musts)…
…and lots of mirrored accents to make the space feel larger (this lingerie/accessories cabinet – also from HomeGoods – is one of my favorite recent finds).
These purple faux flowers have made it through three moves with me (relatively) intact, and I think they bring so much brightness to a space.
And finally, check out these little touches installed by the previous owners. Who knew closet door handles and hinges could be so pretty?
Still To Do:
– Add matching lamp to other side of bed
– Add matching white nightstands with actual drawers (and move Lucy’s DIY-ed dog bed elsewhere)
