I have a major soft spot for Americana.
It’s just so romantic.
One of my favorite pieces in our house is a 1950s Coca-Cola sign (pictured above, in my office) handed down to me from my parents, and I’m one of those people who can’t take a road trip without coming home with assorted Americana-type souvenirs. When my dad and I drove cross-country after my college graduation, for example, I came home with everything from Waffle House mugs to metal Route 66 signs to the most amazing dreamcatcher ever (it even inspired my most prominent tattoo). And when I bartended at Hogs ‘n’ Heifers, forget about it: my dorm room turned into one big mish-mosh of Coors Light neons, antlers, and mirrored bar signs.
