Q. Hi Jordan!
We just moved to new digs and are in the process of furnishing our home.
The couch is a light gray, the chair is navy, and the ottoman is a deep brown leather…but I’m in need of pops of color from some home accessories. Since decorating has been hot on your radar lately, any ideas?

A. I really like the palette you’re starting with: grey, navy, and brown is actually my own personal favorite combo (right now, we have a brown couch, a grey rug, and…well, no navy, but navy would be a nice addition), mostly because it’s chic, timeless, and can go in lots of different directions.
When I looked at your room, my very first thought was: go retro. A few mod touches in orange and white, a little warmth courtesy of some greenery (how cool is that upside-down planter?), and a bold striped rug to pull it all together would do wonders to give the space life and movement.
