I just love this. Something about it reminds me of my grandparents’ house – I think it’s the shelf and the globe – but in only good ways; it just looks like such a calm, relaxing place to be. And if you mentally remove the furnishings, it also looks like everyone in the world’s first apartment…or at least it certainly looks like mine (white walls, beige carpet, generally personality-free), so it gives me the warm and fuzzies. I remember how exciting it was to open up that door for the first time and start dreaming of ways to make the blank canvas that was all mine look like I lived there.
I’d do a “Get The Look”…but this photo just goes to show that CraigsList and hand-me-down style can be gorgeous. For the chairs, try hunting for Eames-style rockers and chairs on Etsy, and if you’re looking for a similar couch try this one from Crate & Barrel.
