Summer Savory is a popular herb in Eastern Canada, but my mom swears it’s almost impossible to find stateside. It’s used similarly to sage, and is a great flavoring for chicken and turkey. My Aunt Trudy says that you may not cook a chicken without it.

COUSIN TINA’S SUMMER SAVORY STUFFING

1. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, a sprinkling of summer savory (you don’t need very much), and some season salt. 

2. Stuff that chicken (or turkey). Done!
