Last week, reader Lisa sent me a recipe for something called “Fool’s Toffee” that looked both super-simple and unbelievably delicious – a killer combination, in my book. I made it last night so that Kendrick has something to munch on while I’m in Canada and Mexico (and so that Mom and I have something to eat on the plane – she does not believe in flying sans chocolate). 

The only part of the recipe I had trouble with was the pouring-hot-butter-over-crackers step, because the butter pooled on one side. This, however, is because our entire apartment lists to the south (seriously), so I couldn’t find a totally flat surface to work on. You probably don’t have this problem, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
