I had a total blast at the Character Approved Awards – I got to hang with Kate, who I haven’t seen in awhile, and met her friend David, who had me laughing so hard with tales of his escapades that my face still hurts this morning. I also spent some quality time with the man himself, honoree Alex Rigopulos, who is on Kendrick’s and my shortlist of Favorite People Ever.

Attendees included Maggie Gyllenhaal and Gabourey Sidibe.

Honorees included Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow, Green Day, and Nora Ephron.

Food included tiny pastry things filled with lemon curd and caviar. I ate many.
