A perfect Valentine’s Day afternoon: a cozy bed and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rose.
I drink champagne out of wine glasses. Why? Because you get more that way. Also, I’m lazy and I think that cleaning champagne flutes is a bit of a pain.
But if flutes are your choice vessel (as they really should be; they keep the champagne fizzy for longer), here are some CHAMPAGNE FLUTE CLEANING SUGGESTIONS:
– Use a bottle brush for quick, easy cleaning (or purchase a flute cleaning brush);
– Wrap a bit of paper towel around the end of a pencil as a DIY bottle brush;
– Put an Alka Seltzer tablet and some warm water in each glass and let sit;
– Do it the French way: just hot water and your fingertips (even trace amounts of soap left in the glass can prevent the champagne from bubbling up);
– Place upside-down on a clean towel to dry.
