Filling Cannolis
Tuesday was busy busy busy. We started out the day at Stuffed, where I learned how to make cannolis (it’s easier than you might think). Stuffed is run by a totally adorable couple, Anthony and Brielle, who started out selling homemade cannolis out of a push-cart in Little Italy. Their unique flavors (including pumpkin pie, pistachio, peanut butter and jelly, and birthday cake) quickly garnered them a passionate following, and last October they opened up their own shop on the Lower East Side. I think it’s a great story…and seriously, the cannolis have to be tasted to be believed. I didn’t really want to try the peanut butter and jelly one – I figured it’d be super-dense or too sweet – but it absolutely melts in your mouth.
Anthony and Brielle sent me off with a box of their delicious pastries, which I may or may not be sharing with Kendrick (likely not). I’m most excited about trying their Bacon Chocolate cannoli. OMG.
