For Christmas Eve dinner, as per our tradition, I made Engagement Chicken (recipe to come) and Mushy Pea-Tatoes with gravy and apple pie. 

JORDAN’S MUSHY PEA-TATOES

What you need:

5 or 6 russet potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks

1/4 cup whole milk

4 tbsp butter

1 tsp salt

1 package steam-in-bag baby peas

What you do:

1. Prepare peas according to package directions. When they are nice and tender, mash them well with a fork.

2. In the meantime, cook potatoes in salted boiling water until tender. Drain and return to pot.

3. Add peas, milk, butter, and salt to pot, and mash well.
