I think pasta machines make a really cool gift – I got one for my dad a few years ago, and he and I have had a lot of fun learning how to use it together (fresh pasta really is a whole other thing. You barely even want to put sauce on it…my favorite way to dress it is with butter and mixed sauteed mushrooms).
