My mother-in-law owns Todd Wilbur’s A Treasury of Top Secret Recipes, and I spent Thanksgiving weekend poring over recipes for everything from Big Macs to Oreos. What Wilbur does is basically make home clones of popular restaurant recipes (above, he shows you how to “clone” a Twinkie).
The whole series of books seems really neat, actually. I don’t know if I’ll ever be struck by the urge to whip up my own Whopper, but I suppose it’s nice that if I ever wanted to, I could.
