Technicolor Dream

Remember how I said I was getting way more into brights lately?

Well, color me gotten.

Ever since I wore that cobalt dress with the coral necklace to Thomasin’s bachelorette (and saw a similar look on cutie pie Meghan of Wit & Whimsy) I’ve had this combo on my mind…and that light-as-air, orange-striped silk tank is pretty much the only thing I want to wear in this steamy weather, so there’s half the look right there. Add bright blue shorts and shoes that don’t match (but that I think look just-right anyway), and done.

Digression: I’ve been wearing about 10,000% less makeup lately. Partially because heat + makeup = no good, but mostly because lately, fresh-faced feels better than done-up. Maybe it’s a getting-older thing? Maybe I’m just more accepting of what I look like without all the bells and whistles? I don’t know, and I couldn’t tell you how it looks to others…but I feel good.

What I’m wearing these days (and in these shots):

– MAC Studio Fix powder on cheeks to cover charming pregnancy-related spots

– A little Orlane bronzer and NARS Deep Throat blush

– A thin swipe of Benefit Magic Ink liquid liner

– Whatever mascara comes to hand

– Smith’s Rosebud Salve on lips

I’ve been waiting to reveal this Foley & Corinna* marvel for awhile now, but it’s just too much. Fringe! Woven leather! Roomy interior! Lovely swishy sound when you walk!

And it goes with everything. Except for restaurant floors. Alas, the fringe is so long that not even my beloved purse-hooks can come to the rescue. But no matter: when something’s this pretty, you fold it up on your lap and hug it through your meal, and you love every second.

On me: Topaza tank c/o Joie, Forever 21 shorts, Luichiny platforms; Woven Circle Crossbody c/o Foley & Corinna, vintage & Forever 21 necklaces, Tuleste Market earrings; Lemke Lady Wraparound Bracelet c/o Lulu’s.
