I am completely in love with my new cookbook. Above is a photo from the section on Table Settings & Entertaining. And yes, it includes recipes for things like Tropical Fruit Fluff, Olive-Cheese Balls and Veal Rolls Divan (your guess is as good as mine).
Monthly Archives: September 2009
Today’s purchases: a black-and-white pillowcase that goes with absolutely nothing in our apartment, but that I loved too much to pass up, and a $3 Better Homes & Gardens cookbook from the ’60s. It’s totally beat up, which only made me want it more.
My favorite section of a street fair is always the used books table, and my favorite part of the used books table is always the stack of old cookbooks.
Saturday morning, I took Lucy to the street fair on 84th Street; she was extremely underfoot, but had a blast.
My Saturday Schedule (So Far)
1. Wake up excited for tonight’s show.
2. Happily peruse street fair on 84th and Second.
Johnny Foxes
Friday afternoon Bud Light pitchers (yes, that’s my beer pick) with Stephen and Eric at Johnny Foxes (Kendrick and Dave showed up moments after this photo was taken).
Marital Plug #2!
Kendrick’s cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Y Control”; he’ll be playing a mix of YYYs songs from his cover album of Fever to Tell and his own stuff tomorrow night at Kidd Yellin Gallery in Red Hook.
Lavender Linen Water
Lavender is my favorite scent for the home (for the body, I tend towards vanilla-y perfumes), and I’ve made it a habit to spritz our sheets with lavender linen water every night before we get into bed.
Bedside Table
On my bedside table you will always find:
