With Francesca and Chad (who is the sort of guy who simultaneously stars on Broadway whilst designing his own line of cashmere sweaters) at The Standard. The Standard serves way better food than they have to and offers some top-notch people watching. I had my first Tom Collins here, and was immediately inspired to drink perhaps one too many.
- 2 ounces gin
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp superfine sugar
- 4 ounces cold club soda
- Garnish as you will – tradition calls for a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry, but I think a slice of lime and a stick of sugarcane sound nice.
